We had a blast at this romantic celebration of French food and costume! Best of all, the entire menu is vegan, which was a fun challenge (as meat, egg, and cheese are all heavily present in French cuisine).

This time lots of people dressed up, making the pictures super cute! Haha. I really enjoyed the mocktails we made this time around, and surprisingly everyone liked them the best. For the food, the vegan beef ragout was “rated” the highest by the attendees, hahaha! But all the food was devoured, so it was all super super good! Yay!

Special thanks goes to: All the people listed on the menu below (they made that particular dish!), those who came in costume AND cooked (you guys are freakin’ amazing), Melissa who drove to Austin to deliver an entire truckful of decor (teapots, teacups, and French-esque dinnerware), Kitchen-master April who spearheaded the cleaning of so many dishes, and everyone who helped clean up after the party. A team effort!

Menu

“Be Our Guest, for a dinner here is never second best! Welcome, traveler! Your hosts, Belle and the Beast, welcome you to their castle for a delicious feast.”

Here’s what we served (that is featured in the Be Our Guest song)! The dinnerware was all thrifted; it’s amazing what you can find if you look, and it wasn’t high cost! I just made sure to plan the party far enough in advance that I’d have time to stumble on Lumiere-esque candelabras, etc. 🙂

Costumes

We had a great showing of costumes at this party which made it fun! Also lots of decor was picked up along the way from thrift stores. My Beast outfit was entirely stitched together from thrifted bits (scarf, pin, vest, etc!) I have a jacket of it too, just forgot to wear it on the day of. So here’s me and Belle’s (Ana’s) outfits from Halloween first with the velvet jacket I found 🙂

And here’s the party the day of!
