Artwork vs. Photo!

Process

I will give you a lot of attention as the painting is designed. I don’t rely completely on photographs, because they fail to capture all the nuance, detail, and most importantly, the soul of the subject. In general I prefer to get many references, and with my artistic vision, I will sew together a beautiful painting for you!

Design stage: You send any existing photographs, and I discuss with you what kind of personality and mood the painting should capture. Often I will want to meet the subject and collect my own photos to work with.
Sketch stage: I will create a sketch (sometimes more than one) of how the subject will appear in the frame to guarantee your happiness with the end product! Any changes needed will be discussed during this stage.
Final stage: You get the beautiful finished acrylic painting!

Pricing

The cost of your painting will depend on technique, size and complexity. I use a spreadsheet that formulates a standard cost per square inch as well as the time spent on a painting.

Prices are discounted the larger you go, per square inch!

After the painting is done, you can pay the full amount. Turnaround time is between 2-6 weeks depending on current workload and complexity of the commission.
